I don't have too much time to do comissions as I like to do research and if I can come up with really something different. However, I was approached by Nelvana Ltd in Toronto in the summer of 2005 to create and produce 250 pendants for their crew gifts for their co-production with Weta Productions in New Zealand. I was just beginning to work on new techniques for ideas for 2006 and thought they might work well for Nelvana's commission. I ended up making my own "flashed glass" and sandblasting images on it, the other technique I used was "pressed glass". I have found very little information on this technique except that I had to cut the design into stainless steel, it turned out to be no small feat! Anyway the pendants were given to company members who worked on "Jane and the Dragon" in New Zealand, Canada, England and France, the pendants were also used as promotional giveaways on YTV.
